Parent Club

What is Spring Hill Parent Club?

The Parent Club works to enhance the relationship between the school and its families by sponsoring community-building events, identifying unmet needs, and raising funds to provide financial support. The PC funds improvements like playground structures and soccer field restoration, and provides teachers with annual classroom grants. Last year the PC equipped Spring Hill with its first ever mobile media lab, complete with 12 laptop computers and a locking cart! The PC sponsors annual fundraising projects like the Drive for Schools in the fall and the Spring Auction Gala, as well as ongoing programs such as e-Scrip, New Leaf, Amazon, QSP magazines, and ink cartridge recycling.

Spring Hill parents, faculty and staff members are all automatic members of the PC. The PC encourages every parent to come to meetings and to become actively involved. There are no dues or obligations – just opportunities to earn parent service hours while getting to know other Spring Hill parents and finding ways to support our school and enhance our children’s educational experience.

The PC also hosts school community events like these:

Welcome Pancake Breakfast – 1st day of school

Family Picnic

Thanksgiving Feast

Family Math Night

Grandparents Day

Family Science Night

Staff Appreciation Luncheon

Meetings are the first Monday of each month at 6:30pm in the 3rd Grade classroom.  Even if you can’t make the meetings, you can volunteer to help with individual events throughout the year.  Signup sheets are located on the kiosk outside the school office, or just contact any of this year’s PC officers:

Attention New Leaf Shoppers!

New Leaf Community Market has changed their Community Card program. They are no longer accepting the old cards in the stores. The new program seems a bit cumbersome at first but I hope we can all get used to it. They still want to give generously to our school and I hope we can continue to support them.

Here is how the new New Leaf E-Card program works.

-Individuals write checks to Spring Hill Parent Club ($100,$250, $500) -The Parent Club keeps 5% and then sends a check to New Leaf to purchase the cards -Shoppers use their cards like debit cards at the stores -When the cards run out of funds (or low on funds) the shopper can either purchase a new card or "reload" the original card by bringing a check to the office.

Purchases can be made at the Spring Hill office during normal business hours.

New Leaf collects orders every two weeks and then it takes two more weeks for us to get the E-Cards.

In order to "jump start" the program the Parent Club has Pre-purchased cards and they are ready for you in the office!

The minimum amount per card is $100.

New Leaf requires that the Parent Club purchase a minimum of $1000 per order.

Regular shoppers can plan ahead based on their usual spending habits. If you shop there less frequently you could buy a $100 card and use it on your occasional visits. They also make great gifts!
