Enrichment Programs

After School Rock Band

Students can participate as singers, instrumentalists, or both. Instruments will be provided or students are welcome to bring their own. The band is open to 3rd-7th graders. Beginners are welcome.

Chess

Paladin Chess Training, based in Santa Cruz, is run by U.S. Chess Federation National Master Gjon Feinstein. He has been a professional chess coach in our community, in schools, and via private instruction for more than a decade. Gjon specializes in scholastic chess instruction for all levels. Tumbling

Barry Brooks has been teaching tumbling to our students for years. He brings mats, balls, bands, and other fun equipment for the kids to play with. The classes are fun and very energetic. This class is available for Kindergarten.

Art Camp

Claudia Stevens offers small, private, after school art Session fee includes kiln firing and materials. Low student to teacher ratio ensures a rewarding art experience. All levels are welcome.

Under the Sun Art & Gardening

Andrea Coddington will be teaching grades 1-7 in this after school art program. Children will work with chaulks, pastels, water colors, acrylics, mosaics, paper mache and more!

Hip Hop Dance Class

Learn Hip Hop! Instructor David Bortnick has been dancing professionally for over 10 years. For the last five years, when not on the road with his live hip hop and break dancing show, David has taught classes at numerous studios right here in Santa Cruz County. This basic hip hop class for grades 3-7 will cover choreography and footwork, musicality, beginning breakdancing, popping/locking, plus the history of hip hop dance and music as a modern American art form. Lego Engineering

Cindy Zimmerman is teaching children to have fun while learning mechanical engineering concepts. Using special Lego kits and instructions, young students will build a variety of simple machines. The class is open to k-3rd grade.

Photography Club

In the Photography Club, students are given an opportunity to develop composition and lighting skills for creative, expressive, and documentary photography. After School Homework Clinic

Open to Spring Hill students only and offered within the childcare program, this program is run by Spring Hill staff. Students get help with homework. Parents must sign their child up for the clinic. It is open from 3:15 to 5:00 but students may be picked up at any time during that period. Regular childcare fees apply.
